This is a simple graphical feedback to indicate the door is, indeed, locked. First, see the two doors on the walls? Across each door is a chain with a little padlock on it. There are several things to note in this picture. Well well well, NOW we're onto something. not very secure, is it? Shannon heads down some steps, into two rooms, and finds this. It's behind an unlocked fence, and an unlocked door.
She cuts through it, then approaches the tomb. With a tent and a Shower in a Can in hand, Shannon heads back to the Base Camp. However, she already won five pieces of high quality dried food from completing the initial quest, so she doesn't need to buy any right now. She can buy dried food here as well, which is absolutely essential and never spoils in her backpack. Shannon heads over to the market presently and buys herself a Shower in a Can, as well as a Tent even though she probably won't need it. These markets are indicated with a blue dot in map view, with its icon a white cash register. All countries have a nearby market that you can visit to buy some supplies to help you out. Speaking of that, you'll need to watch your Sim's needs whilst they adventure, especially in a tomb. Wow, that's right next to the Base Camp, indicated by the green dot! This is pretty good: tomb raiding can be tiring, and having the Base Camp nearby means that Shannon can retreat if necessary to rest and recover. Press the M key to open the map view of Egypt, and make sure you set your map tag filter to "All." Any spot she can visit is represented by a blue dot, but you'll see a single yellow dot somewhere at a location too. Luckily, there is an easy way to figure out which tomb Nabila wants Shannon to check out. Now, the quest window updates itself again, but this time the "Report In" button isn't there: looks like we'll have to do a bit of manual digging to advance the story. Right now, Shannon passes this first quest, and is instructed to help Nabila find some papers in a nearby tomb.
